How do you stop them? I'm getting about 10 calls per month. Don't they realise we can pick up the phone and ask if we need something?

Not Orange
Really nice guy, obviously really located in Glasgow, called me saying he was from Orange. I don't think he's directly related to Orange as he was only offering me SIMs, handset-only, tablets and Orange broadband deals. He started by telling me I was a loyal customer, and had built up some loyalty points, but could only tell me my name. A friend had the same call from a different number but with the same script, and they asked her for her account number. BE CAREFUL. If you give them a few details, they can act as go between and get commission.

Not Orange
This has happened to me. They said they were Orange but they aren't! They have sent me a free i pad and phone - I haven't paid a penny and I did not give them any bank details, so I don't follow what the scam is? Orange can't register my new phone.

I got an answer phone message from this number today, the speaker says, "I still wear pants, *mumbles something*, ah get off it" there's a big pause and then the phone hangs up. I don't know who this caller is, but they don't seem very professional that's for sure.

Totally misleading
Got a call a few days ago with the same chat as listed above, which really did make you think they were connected to Orange (I've been with Orange for 10 years). Said I would be interested in an iPad mini and they then asked for the first line of my address and post code as well as my DOB. I told them that I wasn't really interested in handing over those details to someone who called me and that I didn't think they were connected to Orange at all. The person on the other end then continued to ask for my year of birth so I politely ended the conversation.

To the person who got the free iPad, where there really no strings attached?

Dont believe everything you read.
Have also had calls from this number, and as said above it is not 'Orange'.
To the person asking about the free Ipad ect... obviously there were strings, if nothing else, full name, full address, date of birth and whatever else they gave, all of which is a good start to anyone who knows how to use them. But in all honesty, if I was running these scam's or pretending to be a company I am not then the first thing I would do is come on sites like this and put some false comments on about all the good 'Free stuff' I got !!

EE / Orange
I got call today claiming he was from EE and as I've been with Orange for so long wanted to offer me discounts/deals. I told him I'd spoken to a girl at Orange 3 days ago and upgraded my broadband package and less than a month ago renewed/upgraded my mobile contract with Orange (EE). He then started pushing me to get my family and friends onto their deals. I said no one would be interested but if he could email me the offers I'd let them know...said he couldn't email...so I said text me them as obvs had my number...no can't text. I told him no deal then. He has rang again tonight. Just not answering now. Go direct to orange if you want anything. Wouldn't trust cold callers.

Haven't a Clue
I just received a call from this number, a friendly sounding Scottish man on the other end. I had already received a missed call from him a few weeks ago, but answered it this time. He asked me if I had any computers in my house or other phones or devices that used internet. Now why would he be asking me that? Just ignore the number and if you do answer, don't tell him nay of your information. In fact, why not have a play about, try to annoy him, then he may leave us all alone?
Annoyed Orange customer

Irritating to say the least
Get a couple of calls a day from this number and stop everything to answer the phone. Always rings off without a word.

What a pile of rubbish. Just had a call off them. They said I've been a loyal customer and kept offering me a new phone. Wasn't interested cos I've previously spoken to orange and I'm not elligable for an upgrade yet. Before I could politely hang up he said that the phone is on its way and hung up on me. Can't ring them back surprise surprise. Rang up orange bout it and they gave me details to send off any handsets I may receive. Its a joke. Bugger off and leave alone

Phishing (thanks Phones 4 U)
I declined to give them any personal details but once they had me confirm type of phone and how I pay my bill they then confirmed my name, address, what deal I'm on, commented on my usage etc.. So I'm thinking, this might be legit, and what harm can it do. I indicate interest in a deal to increase my minutes allowance and they say they'll set it up - I don't give them any personal or payment details.

I immediately called Orange and asked about it. The guy checked my account and said there was no activity, no notes, no additional charges, no deal added. He said it was because I got the phone/contract through Phones 4 U - apparently places like that can give out the information you give them when you buy the phone. It was probably from another company trying to phish for info on what I was looking for/needed.

Wanted me to confirm address details and the handset I had as he needed these detail for 'data protection'. There was lots of background noise which made me doubt it was a T-mobile office as he claimed - these people really p*** me off - they are parasites and they prey on people who are trusting - there should be a law against these sociopaths!
