AA/BSM, Driving schools
The only way you can get a quote online is to fill in your details. But NOWHERE on the page does it say they will use your phone number to pester you at 6pm on weeknights. What a joke.

looked at website to gauge pricing. I did not request to be contacted, I did not complete any transactions. The company have no need to follow up as at no point did I request follow up.

This is a post to confirm that it is The AA calling. We take the OfCom regulations very seriously, and operate within their guidelines. Customers have the opportunity to dial a freephone 0800 number if they wish to speak with a member of staff. The AA is committed to improving its services to its members and may call you following a vehicle breakdown, about your renewal or to keep you informed about the other products and services offered by the AA. However, if you do not wish to receive further calls from us, please dial the 0800 number back and follow the instructions and we will ensure that you are not called.

Telephoned the 0800 number as advised but was unable to leave a message to stop these calls as the mail/voice box was full and was advised to call back. At 14p per minute, if I keep having to call how much will this eventually cost me???

Unwanted and Silent Calls
I received two calls from this number in the space of two days
The first time I answered the call, but whoever was on the other end hung up without saying anything
The second time I let it go to voicemail but no message was left for me

I do not know what company this number is for or why they are calling, but looking at these comments it would seem it is the AA. I recently requested a quote for driving lessons. I do not appreciate receiving regular silent calls, especially as I did not see an option to opt out of such calls.

Huh!
I didn't fill out any form. I only looked at the BSM website and all of a sudden I'm getting calls. Anyway I've decided to take my lessons with Bill Plant as they charge £53 for the first five lessons and its cheaper than most.

AA Driving Lessons
I missed the call because I was in the shower, but I too filled out a form maybe an hour ago to find out the cost of driving lessons. Same thing happened with a different company when I wanted to find out the cost of car insurance - they won't give you a quote unless you give them a phone number, but all I want is a quote!

Now I've got the same problem!!
I 'enquired' online this morning and since the. I have had 2 missed phone calls. I don't answer them as I don't normally answer the phone to unknown numbers/withheld numbers....I then researched the number online an found this!! They should just put the prices online so you don't have to put it all your details!! Or at least just call once and leave a message and if I want to arrange a lesson I will call them back!

This is outrageous!
Exactly the same story: called their number, but an operator requested to ing a request form.
Id refused, stating that I dont want to leave my personal details for the reason of unwanted contacts.
Then went on their website, - discovered the same situation: a request for address, name and number, - so, I had no choice, if I wanted to know their rates.
An hour later they already were calling!
Does anybody know how can we complain?

Registered telephone service user
I registered my phone with the telephone information service which means any company wishing to call me must check this list, I was called today which means they never checked their procedure and have effectively broken ofcom and also statutory regulations

It amazes me.............
Why you are complaining about having received calls from a particular phone number. You put your phone in the computerised form, if you were only doing it for seeking information maybe you should have given them a call afterall it is a freephone numbers. Stop complaining, you gave your number out to them, maybe you will learn next time not to do this!

I agree, its a freephone number therefore wouldnt cost you anything from a landline, & Im sure that providers dont charge you to receive these calls either.
But instead you gave out your personal phone number to an organisation and are complaining because they are following up your interest in a product (driving lessons) that they offer. This is called Customer Services, maybe you might have heard of it?
I would suggest as your preferred communication is using the internet that you send them an email asking them to remove your information from their various marketing lists.
Why would you think that the AA would be competitive in their driving lesson prices I have no idea. They have always be know as being expensive thats why we all go to Bill Plant, Red Driving School, etc.
Have a great day! :)
