This is a company that one of my dafter family members (despite over 10000 warnings) replied too on the net,it came up as an add for a cheap holiday, they then give you offers on variou s holiday discounts, ask for your account details and rob you,my mother had over 2500 pounds stolen from these people, shes been on the phone ever since trying too get her money back,at which i told her she has already opened the can of worms and would never see her money again, she never seen the holiday either...and they phone all the time now, once at 7:35 in the morning...i cant say i never told her so,i feel bad for her,but i am quietly laughing at the irony as i only tell her at least 20 times a day too stay away from internet adds...but im more angry at the people who done this,as it left christmas a wreck.i hope someone gets these pigs!!!

this isnt nat west calling you!
dont give them any details for any reason whatsoever but do try and keep them on the phone while you take down all of *their* details then contact the office of the information commissioner and make a complaint.
www.ico.gov.uk
You need only the protagonist's number ot follow through a complaint and that should ensure someone official gets in touch with them.

claimed to be rbs collections, and had some details about me so might be genuine - not certain enough to give them my card details though...

'Creditcard Centre'..?
Having just called the number back it states 'Welcome to the Creditcard Centre'. it gives no detalis of the company and simply asks you to enter your creditcard number...not sure how you can do that if you don't know which card it refers to? Nor should you!

Not the Natwest
Asked to speak to my husband said he was not in gave me another number to call 0870 154 1172, when I did 1471 it was 0845 3008 106 - when I phoned they asked for credit card details, they then said they were from Natwest - very dodge do not hand out any details.

Silent Call Hell
This is the 5th Silent Call I have had from this number. Clearly its nothing important or it wouldn't be a silent call in the first place...Customer Service do not use Auto Diallers only sales and scams. So I have no intention of calling it back.

Missed a call from this number, so looked at what has been posted before. Very dodgy indeed, so I wont be calling back. If it was and official call, surely they would leave a voicemail????

I've had two missed calls from this number today. Called it back and got the message "Welcome to the credit card centre - enter your credit card number"

Seems very suspicious.

Needs Reporting
I'm also being plagued by this number and its mentioned on other forums too. EVERYBODY NEEDS TO START REPORTING THIS NUMBER BEFORE ITS TOO LATE AND PEOPLE GET SCAMMED.

They just need one vunerable pensioner to trustingly give out their details to make the scam a success.

This it natwest card collections. They rang and asked me a lot of security question, a few too many for my liking. I rang natwest back on the number on the back of my card and asked to speak to an advisor. I told them about the call and they said they have it logged as a call to me, so it's definitely genuine

Jamiroquaifan - I dont think so - do you perhaps work for the company who own this telephone number. They are nothing to do with NatWest and no banking company will ring a number and hang up without leaving a message. Under no circumstances give any personal information away to cold callers - ring the numbers on your statements or the official company website.

This is not Natwest, this number called me and i refused to answer any security questions. I then got in touch with Natwest Fraud department and 0845 300 8106 is NOT one of their phone numbers.

this number rings me day and night, it's annoying
they ring at odd times 1am, Sunday 11pm etc. This can not be genuine. A bank would leave a message and ring at decent times. I just wish they would stop ringing me.

don't get caught out! The caller is very insistent and even when challenged as a scam, she insists she is genuine.

There is big difference between Natwest Credit Card and the credit card centre-
Don't be taken in- no bank contacts its customers or does business like this, even as the caller implies, there is a serious banking issue with the account.
What is really worrying is the use of phone number not used for business and registered under another name. The caller is unscrupulous.

Obviously, the calls have been reported and the correct checks with the account have been made.

not a scam
it's so simple. a lot of fearful comments here. i have experienced calls like this for years from RBS related companies. here's what i have done every time. if i have picked up, no way do i give them my details. i tell them i'll call back on a number i know is theirs, and conduct my business. every time it has been legit, RBS have indeed had a reason to be contacting me. if i had missed the call, i look up the number and always one of these great sites lets me know who was behind it. again i call using a genuine number and it has been legit every time.

so everyone! there's no need to speculate whether it's a scam or not! just do these sensible things and chill.

it is true that their system is crap, but that is bloody RBS for you right there, no two ways about it. i've been in debt for an age, but as soon as it's sorted my RBS accounts are gone. i've had seriously amazing experiences with Barclays and they will definitely be seeing my custom, among others

Natwest - Genuine
Confirmed that, in my case, this was a genuine call form NatWest regarding a credit card I do hold and they were able to confirm enough details to verify their identity.

Bear in mind that it is possible to spoof a CLI and as such it should not be relied on. It's entirely possible that a scammer would use this CLI to pretend to be NatWest (or other card companies)

this is a scam read below
Of course they ask you lots of security questions. .

This is how they obtain personal information about you in order to steal your identity.

It also allows them to pass your telephone banking security questions. They then proceed to call your bank pretending to be you and change your address details, claiming they need emergency funds transfer etc.

If they didn't pretend to be the bank you wouldn't be giving them your personal information would you?

No wonder so many people get ripped off.

And of course random card number gets you through to the "advisor". Ou have provided yout card information Nd now the security questions are to gain the information registered to your card Nd bank account.

Hope you all wake up!

Not a scam - at least for me.
Hadn't paid my credit card bill for weeks. Calls came through approx 3 times per day eventually, no messages left.

I paid my bill online, directly into my Credit card account.

Calls stopped.

It may well be a third party acting on behalf of Natwest/RBS, but I find its enough evidence that I only seem to get these calls when I'm in arrears. A scammer wouldn't be so savvy.

NOT a scam, it is RBS/NatWest card services
These calls are genuine - I phoned the number on my credit card (on a different phone) and sure enough, there had been a problem with a direct debit which I resolved. No, I didn't respond directly to their call (I never do respond to unsolicited calls) but this is perfectly above board.

I wasn't sure whether it was a scam as the man was rude and abrupt. When I called Natwest to check whether it was fraudulent, they had the previous call logged so it is Natwest and I was over my credit card limit.
