This number belongs to a Telecoms company called XLN Telecoms. They are like BT Wholesale customer and they try selling to UK Businesses or porting the customers from BT to their company.
Please beware of them as they use all sales tactics to win your business.

This number is known the Police

I work for a legitimate UK loan broker and we have come into contact with these people on multiple occasions.

This number is a Skype number, the calls are coming from a call centre somewhere in Pakistan, (that is currently under investigation by the Police in the UK ) as it has been linked with fraudulent representation (pretending to be various UK loan companies) and soliciting funds by deception - by utilizing UK based "money mules". The Fraudsters recruit individuals in the uk as "money mules" they allow people to use their UK bank accounts to take payments from the victims in exchange for a cut of the money.

If we find any of these bank details, we report them to the Police, it's classified as money laundering and carries a maximum sentence of 14 years in prison.

Things to remember.

1. Never money upfront for a loan, if you have bad credit, you don't get a loan.
2. Never provide personal details over the phone unless you know who you are dealing with.

It's a debt management company, trying to offer advice on debt... Annoying because I don't even have a debt. and I hate getting unsolicited calls, but it's nothing to worry about.. Same as the people calling to ask about PPI, they're a nuisance but that's all.

Phoney misleading calls regarding computer
They call saying it is a technical call that they received an error message from the computer via the line. Kept using computer speak but it made no sense what they were saying how a private computer could send them any information. BEWARE.

Called at that time. Answered, got a momentary tone and then hung up. 1471 revealed this number exactly, I returned call and got auto message which stated 'not a survey, but call was on behalf of TMS or TNS'. I hung up because it was clearly an illegal automated dialler/call.

British Legion & other charities use this call centre...not a problem other than I would never hand over funds to a call centre or anyone who calls me, even the real ones, I prefer to select charities myself.

Fake Call from World Wide Web Services/
Wouldn't give me the addredd other than Victroia Place in London and this number.
Kept waffling on about my computer and error reports - asked me several time to goto a website and tried to use Event Viewer as the source of problems.
Asked for my IP address which he gave me an INCORRECT one.
Couldnt give me the name of the application that had failed even though he apparently had received the error logs.
Very Persistent - told him he was speaking bollox and when i started pressing him for an addredd and company name he hung up.

JOB OFFER SCAM!
I went for an 'interview' and had a 'job offer' by the people running this number. They went under a company name called 'CV Locator' and I was interviewed by a jack-the-lad 20-something called Paul Peci. They've given me the run around by asking me to go to 'meetings' at two different addresses. Their website don't exist and whenever you try to call 'CV Locator' back, there is no answer. Don't be fooled by a job offer by these fools!

Laithwaites/Sunday Times / BA Wine Club
Reading some of the comments here, from people trying to guess who it is. It is a perfectly legitimate London-based company, calling on behalf of one of their clients, which happens to be Laithwaites.

There is nothing to be gained from being rude to the caller (just another human being) or simply hanging up.

It is NOT cold calling, as they are calling customers who have bought from them before. If you wish to not be called any further, then simply politely request that you are taken off the list. To be even clearer, request the option that they have termed "No outbound calls wanted". Then they will do it for you.

From my experience, being nasty / condescending to the caller, or hanging up on them, will only make them call you more.

Just received a call from someone claiming my computer was putting out error messages and they could help. They called themselves World Web Server. I got them to give me their phone number and this is what they gave. I told them I knew it was a scam and they rang off! I did 1471 afterwards and the number had been withheld!

Apparently nspcc
Had a phone call 5mins ago from this number claiming to be nspcc the lady told me a few horrible stories about the children that ring up saying tht they are getting bullied and want to take their own lives after this she asked me if I could donate 12£ to help them answer all the calls that they get as apparently it cost 2£ to answer every phone call that a child makes to them, I said no as I am a little worried as to wether it was really the nspcc she them asked if I could donate 8£ instead I also said no to this to then she replied with how about a pound a week then in the end I just hung up surely charities aren't allowed to ring and ask for money or am I just being stupid
