want to know the name of the company of this number

"Derek" with an Indian accent with lots of call centre background noise called purporting to be from CPS (call prevention service) asking for money to pay for the service to block all marketing/cold calls from abroad by plugging in a device they would send once I'd given my details for payment/address presumably. He said his company's customer service number is 0845 474 9636, a high premium number presumably. I told him I wasn't bothered by all the cold calls I receive and he didn't have anything to say to that.

The gentleman calling me from this number, never introduced himself or said who he was calling on behalf, spoke very bad English, probably a Indian call centre from his accent and broken English, when I asked him how he got my number and could I speak to his supervisor to be removed from their calling list he just hung up

I managed to keep this person talking who claims to be from "Alder Consumer Opinion Poll", representing many UK companies.
I asked him to list them and he said Bwitish Gas, Bwitish Telecom, Sky, Wirgin Media, TalkTalk and many others.
I informed him that our number was ex-directory and also on the TPS Telephone Preference Service but he seemed unfaltered. Even suggested I should check MY facts about whether he can call me!!!!
I kept him talking as long as I could but he eventually hang up.
